Stories Adapted From the Scripts

Welcome to a new page on this site, devoted to featuring short stories and novellas based on the plays and skit scripts found here! Frederick realized that some might enjoy reading the stories in a more reader-friendly format than the scripts with stage directions, which were meant for performance. Most started as a story first, developed before being converted into a script for live performance.  A few began as scripts, which Fred adapted into prose. Both the original stories and the new adaptations will be posted for your enjoyment. They may also serve to stimulate a desire to perform the original script in your church!

You will see the graphic above, or a similar one for the shorter stories, on each script page that has been adapted.

But, for your convenience, here are the ones adapted so far, with many more coming in the future. Check back often as they are posted! Frederick is also compiling them to publish in ebook and printed book formats, as well as an audio book, so watch for that announcement here!

The title is already decided, and it is inspired by one of the stories in the book… “Redemption in the Wings.” First, the planned cover…

Here’s the back cover blurb:

What happens when the curtain rises, the unexpected takes center stage, and lives are changed in ways no one could have imagined?
These heartwarming Christmas stories grew out of original stage dramas written by Frederick Passmore for churches and community audiences. Now adapted into engaging prose, they bring to life memorable characters, unexpected humor, tender moments, and powerful reminders of God’s love.
Behind every Christmas celebration are stories waiting to be told. Stories of forgiveness, second chances, family, faith, and the remarkable ways God works through ordinary people.
Some will make you laugh. Some may bring tears. All are reminders that the greatest story ever told is still changing lives today.
Because even when life doesn’t go according to the script, redemption is always waiting in the wings.
Here are the stories for your reading enjoyment:

“The Christmas Family”

“Stormy Night, Holy Night”
